Training Workshops for Live Sound “What exactly do all those knobs and
buttons do anyway?” Have you ever been at a concert or lecture where you couldn’t
catch all the words? Perhaps one of the instruments or voices was
too soft or dull (or too loud and distorted). Maybe you’ve
experienced the piercing howl of feedback through a sound system....
You don’t have to be a professional engineer
to run a basic sound system! In 1–2 hours, you and the “tech
crew” volunteers can learn the basics of making your sound
system and performing space sound their best. Find out what all
those knobs and buttons are about. Learn the right way to do a sound
check. Learn about acoustics, how to protect everyone’s hearing
and how to add years of life to your equipment. Workshops include
handouts, some useful theory and a lot of hands on practice.
Some of the things to let Steve know include:
•
What kind of music and instruments you are playing?
•
Where are you located?
•
How many of your shows a year require sound equipment?
•
What is the size of your audience?
•
What kinds of settings are you performing in?
•
What sound equipment are you already comfortable working
with?
•
Do you use monitor speakers?
•
Are you interested in effects units and compressors?
•
Who besides you will be running sound?
•
Is sound equipment left set up or taken down after each
use?
•
Any special requests?
Please give a call or contact us
to let Steve know more about your situation and needs.*
